The Wallis Gallery is a contemporary art space in Hackney Wick. It's lifetime is limited in that it may be demolished as early as next year to make way for the 2012 Olympic Games' Media Centre. In the meantime no time is being wasted and The Wallis Gallery is on a mission to curate extraordinary shows of undiscovered talent.
The gallery is being run by two Ruskin graduates, (one a fine artist, the other a gallery assistant) and a fine art photographer. Edward Fornieles, Vanessa Carlos and Ross McNicol together run The Wallis Gallery as a non-profit space. It does not represent artists and commission on sales that result from its exhibitions are re-introduced into the gallery to fund further exhibitions. It also hosts a monthly meeting of minds with a musical reaction called The Saturn Salon.
